Our Team

  • Jean-François Cloutier, PhD

J-F is the principal investigator. He enjoys seeing the look of distress in the eyes of lab members when he puts on a lab coat to do begin an experiment, which we inevitably have to finish for him.

  • Emilie Dumontier, MSc

Emilie manages lab operations and contributes her wide breath of skills to most research projects in the lab. She also asks all the tough questions at our lab meetings!

  • Sabrina Quilez, PhD student

Sab studies the mechanisms underlying defects in cortical synaptic transmission in specific mouse models we have developed. She shows great patience when explaining electrophy-siology to a bunch of developmental biologists.

  • Sydney Fearnley, PhD student

Sydney examines the effects of alterations in neuronal wiring on innate and social behaviours. When not in the behaviour room, she makes sure lab members are properly caffeinated.

  • Anastasia Zhong-Vorkapic, MSc student

Anastasia studies the development of inhibitory interneurons in a mouse model of Autism Spectrum Disorder. She holds the lab record for the number of intramural sports team she plays on.

  • Fannia Xu, MSc student

Fannia studies the molecular mechanisms that modulate dendritic branching in the olfactory system.

  • Edan Shpigel, MSc student

    Edan studies cortical interneuron development.

  • Mary Allen, MSc student

Mary studies the molecular mechanisms that modulate dendritic branching in olfactory systems.

  • Lina Champain, MSc student

Lina examines how transsynaptic cell adhesion complexes regulate synapse function.
